The Diósgyőr Papermill is the only company in Hungary that is involved in producing security papers. These unique and exclusive products have been the symbols of quality paper production in Hungary for more than two hundred years.

Our History:

1782  The papermill was built in 1782 in accordance with European models, while
          also incorporating individual ideas

1802  A dated watermark from Diósgyőr

1842  Károly Fiedler, the new owner begins a continuous development

1878  The family Kolba continues modernisation

1890  The Swiss- made moulded- paper machine was put into operation

1926  The factory is transformed into a corporation

1948  Nationalisation

1963  After the reorganisation of the Hungarian paper industry, the factory becomes
          a minor  enterprise of a huge trust

1990  It becomes a subsidiary

1993  The factory goes over into the property of the Banknote PrintingCorporation and operates again as corporation

1997  Conditions for the production of up- to- date security paper are created
          through vast machinery investment

1999  ISO 9002 Quality System is granted

2002  ISO 9001 Quality System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

Activity: production of base paper for bank notes, certificates, shares and bonds, public transport tickets and watermarked printing papers and cardboard.
